From Wallmapu, the ancestral Mapuche territory at Patagonia’s northern threshold, the route moves through araucaria forests and Valdivian rainforest between Pucón, Puerto Varas and the lakes of Northern Patagonia.
Along the way are Melipeuco, Chile’s Trekking Capital; 67% of the country’s hot springs; the nearly 400-metre Salto El Calzoncillo above Lago Rupanco; Pacific wetlands rich in birdlife… and, just beyond the route, Chiloé, where Humboldt and Magellanic penguins nest together at Puñihuil.

We connect Chile and Argentina across the Andes through multiple border crossings and different ways of travelling, including routes such as Cardenal Samoré toward Bariloche and Chile Chico–Los Antiguos between Lago General Carrera and the Argentine steppe.
Roads, ferries and lake crossings can become part of the journey, allowing itineraries to move naturally between both
sides of Patagonia.
