"It's about time. You've been doing this your whole life."
When I told my mother I had finally started my own contemplative travel company, she laughed — the knowing laugh of a woman who has been right all along — and sent me a photograph thirty years old. Me, at five, alone on the Carretera Austral, solemnly photographing every sign that marked where one place ended and the next began, so I would always hold the thread of a journey.
A moment later, a second photograph arrived. Me at thirty-six, at Niagara Falls, in almost the same pose. Three decades apart, and mirrored. I understood why she laughed. This is who I have always been: most alive where there is room to breathe, and certain that we connect most fully with the world the moment we disconnect from its noise. I have lived this my whole life, long before it became my work… and it is what I now design, step by step, for you.
